| CHESTNUT CREST is the property
of F. A. Peckham, and consists of ninety-eight and one-half acres.
Mr. Peckham's postoffice address is Poplar Ridge. This farm is located on
the State Road, five miles from Aurora and fifteen from Auburn. Its resources
are hay, grain, dairying, and fruit culture. The products of the dairy are
taken to the creamery at Poplar Ridge. A feature of the farm is its fine
apple orchard of four acres, and there are ten acres of hardwood timber;
also an ample water supply from never-failing wells. W. Branch was
a previous owner, thence to William Skidmon, and from him to the present
owner in 1883. Mr. Peckham is a native of Cayuga County and was born in 1843.
He married Mrs. L. Riddell (sic), of Bradford County, Pa.; they have
one son and one daughter. |
