| SPRINGSIDE. This fine farm consists
of one hundred and sixteen acres owned by Dexter Wheeler. Postoffice
address, Poplar Ridge. It is located on the Poplar Ridge road, six miles
from Aurora and King Ferry, both convenient railroad markets. It is less
than sixteen miles from Auburn. Fruit, grain and dairying are its chief
resources. "Springside" derives its name from splendid springs located on
the place, and which supply an abundance of pure water. In 1829 this land
was deeded to Ellery A. Howland by John Kellett, from Mr. Howland,
April, 1857 to C. Wheeler, Jr., thence to Dexter Wheeler, brother
of Cyrenus Wheeler, Jr., in 1877. Mr. Wheeler also owns "Rosemere,"
located in Poplar Ridge. |
