The lines shown here are only to connect the points in the order they
were visited. The actual route taken would have been dependent upon
the geography and the most convenient paths along the waterways and through
valleys would have been followed. The rivers shown will give a good
idea of the actual route taken. The course begins in the southern
part of DeRuyter Township, goes to German, and then turns northward again
ending in the vicinity of where DeRuyter Reservoir is now located.
