While the 1950 map of Western NY shows the railroad routes as the primary
mode of transportation, this 1954 map shows the introduction of the state
highways. Notice how Route 19 and 19A are shown, but 19 follows the
north-south and east-west county roads, with the current diagonal route as
proposed. There are several other roads on here, such as Fuller Road
south of 19A, that only exist as farm lanes now.
