On the request of L.B. Grant, a meeting of the Trustees of the Fredonia Baptist Society was held at his store Mch. 18, 1872.
Present, Alva Colburn, Chairman; Rev. A. Wheelock, Geo. N. Frazine, David Barrell, Eber M. Pettit, Saml. S. Crissey and A.Z. Madison, Clerk.
The subject of new roofing the ch. was considered as the tar & composition roof put on two or three years ago by Mr. Grant does not fulfil (sic) the expectations, but is found to leak and he is unwilling to take the responsibility again.
Various plans were spoken of as the taking all off (sic) down to the roof boards and then covering anew with tin with galvanized-iron & with new shingles also the shingling over what is now on, both shingled & composition.
After consultation, on motion of Mr. Pettit, Resolved that Mr. Grant procure some 50 M beech shingles as Mr. L. Ellis got from near Pine Grove, PA for his barn to use unless tin or iron sheets yet be deemed best.
Resolved to adjourn.

25th or 50th Annual Meeting
Pursuant to four weeks public notice an Annual Meeting of the Fredonia Baptist Society was held in the Lecture room June 11, 1872.
On nomination by L.B. Grant, Rev. A. Wheelock was elected Chairman and by common consent A.Z. Madison was considered Clk. of this meeting.
The Election of trustees was delayed to hear the financial report of L.B. Grant who for several years has attended to the financial matters of the Society, generally, as to rents & salary.
Mr. Grant reported by item in detail showing the amt. paid by him during the last two years, (the account with him being then called even from April 1, 1870) to be $2441.56 and the receipts from slip rent & c. 1606.00
Leaving a bal. due him of $ 835.56
On motion of A. Colburn, seconded by A.Z. Madison, Resolved to receive and adopt the report of Mr. Grant.
Resolved to proceed to the election of two Trustees.
The Chairman appointed as Tellers Isaac H. Damon and Squire Edwards.
Ballotted, and on canvassing votes I.H. Damon announced as the result, the election of Alva Colburn & Darwin L. Shepard, Trustees for three years from this date.
(June 11, 1875 terms expire.)
Considerable conversation before & after the balloting, was held in regard to the deficit shown by Mr. Grants report and also, concerning the two hundred dollars claimed that the So. should pay back to Royal Smith for that sum paid by him for the right of this So.y in the Laona Bap. Ch. property.
