I am lloking for information regarding Cora (DECKER) POPE. I do not know her maiden name but these were the names she may have used. I know she passed away some time between 1977 and 1983 and that she was young. She had 3 children Cora, Jason and Pam. I also know that she lived in Greene at some time during her life.

Who were the children of Jesse JOHNSON & Rhoda BAKER? Some were b. in NH, possibly others b. Greene, Chenango Co., NY. The family lived in the Page Brook Road area of Greene.
Known children are:
1. Dorothy b. 1800, married Richard LASKEY b. England, moved to WI w/family sometime after 1837 when dau. Chloe was b.
2. Ebenezer b. 1806,
3. Jesse Jr. b. 1808,
4. James C. b. abt 1811,
5. Stephen d. 1820, age 22,

My grandmother Lucille BOWMAN (married name RIEBER) was born 6-2-1896 in Afton, New York and later married George RIEBER. I believe her mothers name is Mary Jane (WILKENSON) BOWMAN and her father was Walter BOWMAN. Her mother died giving birth to her and she was raised by an Aunt and Uncle (ED?) in North Afton Many of the family members were buried in the North Afton cemetery.
One of the WILKENSONs, I think Charles WILKENSON, died serving in the military in Key West sometime in the 1800s. My great great grandmother I think last name ISAVET.

I am looking for information on Daniel P. FINCH. He was born in Chenango County in 1810 . He was married and lived ther until at least 1838 because I have children born ther until that time . In 1855, he was living in Canisteo, Steuben County, with several more children . His wife died and he married a Hester BUTLER and had one son . They moved to Allegany County. I'm looking for information on Orris MOON. Born about 1884 and died on July 11,1896.
I think that Orris could be a brother of my g-g grandmother Eunice (MOON) FERGUSON of Crawford Co., Pa. Eunice was born June 16, 1833 died Sept. 2, 1884. Her mother's name was Thurza? (WATSON) MOON, Eunice's father's name is unknown. Eunice married Thomas M. FERGUSON born May 29, 1829 died Nov. 13, 1865.
Orris MOON was born in N.Y. and resided in Chenango in the 1850's. He died in Linesville, Pa (Crawford Co.,Pa).

I have a request for someone who might live in the New Berlin area. In Fairview Cemetery, there are several graves that I would like to know what the inscription says and also would very much appreciate if someone could send me a digital picture.They are for the following people:
Section D.20 - Royal Ross MERRIMAN (R. Ross MERRIMAN) who was buried April 6, 1904; De Francia MERRIMAN who was buried September 9, 1873; Hugh P. MERRIMAN, who was buried September 16, 1934.
Section D.24 - Ichabod DAVIS who was buried in 1826; Sally Hill DAVIS who was buried in 1875; Catherine MERRIMAN who was buried in 1910; Isaac MERRIMAN who was buried in 1886; Marie (DAVIS) MERRIMAN who was buried in 1876; and, Sally Marie MERRIMAN who was buried April 1, 1906.
The ones in Section D.24 are my most important and if someone only has time to go to one of the two burial sites, that would be my most desired.
I don't know if anyone who reads this lives close enough to help me, but I would be very, very grateful if they can.

Trying to find Abijah CLEMONS and his wife Martha. Abijah is buried in Guy`s Cemetery in Afton, Chenango County, NY. He was born in 1792 and died in 1842. It is stated on his son, Daniel`s death certificate that Abijah was his father and that Daniel was born in Bainbridge, Chenango County, NY. Have not been able to find birthplace of Abijah and his wife Martha. Martha might be a member of the Stowell family.

Looking for information on the Abraham DEPUE family of Greene Twp. in Chenango County. Census records indicate he lived there between the 1810's and 1830's and probably had several children born there, including David T. DEPUE, Ransom DEPUE and possibly John W. DEPUE. The family ended up in Tompkins County in the 1850 census, and some of the children in Indiana and Michigan in the 1860 census.

I was told that I have relatives buried in the Glenwood Cemetery in Afton, NY. I believe they are all buried nearby each other with the exception of one person who has a grave marker "off to the side".
Is it possible for someone that lives near there to look for/collect the headstone information for me of:

The person buried "off to the side" was Dorothy ROTH but might be identified by the first name Frances or last name DIXON. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for more information on Mary B. WILKINS, African American, who died in Sherburne, in Sept. 1898. She was born a slave in Maryland, the daughter of Samuel and Harriet (SIMS) RUSSELL. In 1841, along with her parents and 4 younger siblings, she was freed by Gerrit Smith of Peterboro, NY, after he paid $3,500 for the family. She first married David BROWN and had two children Harriet and William. David is buried at Peterboro. Mary later lived in Clinton, Oneida Co. Would like to know who her 2nd husband (WILKINS) was, why she was living in Sherburne, and where she is buried.

Am trying to find information on Miriam/Merion HALLETT (b. 31 Jan 1822, supposedly Bainbridge, Chenango County, NY) and Albert ROUNDS (b. 14 Jan 1810, supposedly in Foster, Providence, RI. or Tioga County, PA). They were married 5 Oct 1848, in Bainbridge and may have had at least three children there: Alvah Bush ROUNDS, Ellen Josephine ROUNDS, and Mary Ann ROUNDS. I can find neither birth nor death records on the Chenango County site, or any other -- so far. Miriam is the daughter of Solomon HALLETT and Eleanor CLEVELAND Burgess Hallett, both who may have died in Bainbrige. I would like to know if Miriam and Albert died in Chenango County or if they moved elsewhere. Any help will be appreciated.

My 2nd Great Grandfather is Arron HALL (1841-1815) he married Lucy PITTSLEY (1838-1894). I found her name on the word tree that lists her parents as John PITTSLEY (1800-) and Sabrina or Salina CLAPP (1798-). I have found that they all lived in Oxford and Preston in Chenango County.
One of Lucy PITTSLEY and Arron HALL's children Charles HALL (1865-1919) married Myra Belle HANEY (1869-1924). They resided in Broome & Cortland Counties.
I would appreciate any information on anyone listed.

Please, are there any remaining CADWELLl individuals remaining in the area that might be able to jumpstart my search for my family tree. I have come to a dead end in my search in the 1850 census from Chenango County. Winfield Scott CADWELL and his wife, Mary, are shown. There is Also a Lavina CADWELL from that same census. But I do not know where to go from there, with the 1840 deficiencies everyone knows about. I see an Orrin CADWELL from 1840 but how can I tie him to my family? W. S. married a Mary RATHBONE / RATHBOUN, who was reported to have been a Cherokee Indian to my grandparents.

Looking for historical records Re: Harvey TALCOTT b. late 1700's d. 1847 cited as son of Joshua TALCOTT Sr. who settled in Sherburne in late 1700's. Several historical summaries connect Harvey as Joshua's son but I can't find birth, death, burial or marriage records to confirm. Harvey's sibs are cited as Joshua Jr. married Sarissa and Jemima who married Joshua PRATT. Cousin Leman H. TALCOTT who's father Joshua Jr bought Porter farm.
Historical documents i.d. Harvey was Postmaster of Smyrna 1829-1841, active in IOOF. Some trees say he had a son Dwight H. and a wife Mary but I have found no historical records.
All help appreciated.

Interested in information on Orrin/Orin/Oren SOULES of Truxton, NY, born about 1822 or so in Schoharie,NY ... Son of William and Debra (PADDOCK) SOULES who moved to Truxton, NY area with all the children.
Orrin had several wives: first Debbie Ann McLEAN, married 1848. Next census lists as wife a Roselind/Rosalind ___ and then 10 years later it lists a Hanna/Anna. Does anyone have any info on Roselind SOULES or a Hanna/Anna SOULES as to what their maiden names may have been? Or if Hanna/Anna was still Roselind and just a nickname?
