I am seeking any information on an Edward PAYNE who lived in the Sherburne area in the early 1800's. I am a sixth generation descendent of him through his son, William F., who was born in Sherburne, in 1819. Other children were: Ira, Anson, Lafayette, Delos, Stephen, Mary, Chloe, Cena, Orrila, and Henry.
We have little information until a generation or two later, so anything would definitely be appreciated.
My father, Roger St. John PAYNE, and the two generations of grandfathers before, Frank E., and Urban Delos PAYNE were born and lived in Edmeston, Otsego County.

I am researching the BURCH family line. Census records in Niagara County, New York indicate that a Lindamine McLAUGHLIN was from Chenango or Chumung County, NY. I recently learned that her maiden name was BURCH and her date of birth was about 1825. There is a query posted in this website by Robert Burch on May 9, 1997 as researching the Lymna Darius BURCH Sr. One of the children in that family was a female born about 1825. I am wondering if we are researching the same family and would welcome any information. Lindemine married James McLAUGHLIN and they resided in the Town of Porter, Niagara County. Lindemine died in Niagara Falls in February 1919.

In 1997 I happened to come across some old postcards that were written around 1907-1914 that contain the name CHURCH. They are not related to me in any way. My great grandmother, the late Gertrude Elizabeth YOUNGS had them. Her sister married a member of this family.
I have postcards that are addressed to the following people. Mr. Will CHURCH, Mrs. May CHURCH, Mrs. Mary CHURCH, Ms. Celia CHURCH, Loretta CHURCH, Ms. Jessie CHURCH, Ms. Betty CHURCH, Mr. Everett CHURCH.
I have a HAPPY NEW YEAR postcard from 1917 that says To Grandma from Leroy PANGBURN.
I also have a postcard from a Mr. Ambrose A. LYAN or LYON from New Berlin, NY.
The CHURCH postcards that I have are sent to Greene and Smithville Flats.
I thought that I would list these to see if anybody knows anything about these people or have any info about them. I also have a New Testament that has the inscription," To Aunt Mote- From Will and Jessie.
The Testament belonged to a Mrs. Glenn BURR who at the time resided at 13 Sheldon Street, Norwich, NY.

Colista (Calista or Celesta) BROWN was born November 1830 in Chenango Co., NY. Both parents were born in Conn. She married Samuel W. STONE before 1850. They had seven children: Charles, Louisa, Ida, Ann, Frank, Floyd, & Dwight.
They lived in Georgetown, Madison Co., NY. I have been able to locate Colista on census records from 1850 - 1900 (in 1900 she was listed as a widow living with son, Frank.) Samuel STONE was born in 1828 in NYS. Both of his parents were born in Mass. I believe he died between 1880 and 1900. I have found no death/burial records for either Colista or Samuel. There are at least 74 heads of families named BROWN in the 1830 census for Chenango Co. Which one is Colista's parent?
I found a reference to "BROWN, Calista, Oct. 1869, 19, NY, teacher" in DEATHS reported in 1870 Census, June 1, 1869 - June 1, 1870, on this site, http://www.rootsweb.com/~nychenan/norwich3.htm. I am wondering if this Calista is related to my Colista (BROWN) STONE?
I would like to find birth, marriage or death records. I am hoping someone else is researching the BROWN family Colista belongs to--hope to hear from you if you are.

I am seeking information on two families that married into the WALSWORTH Family.
1. Elizabeth TRACY of New York married William WALWORTH (WALSWORTH) of Preston. William was born in 1785 and Elizabeth was born abt. 1791. I'm not positive of where they were born. Their children were born in Preston (Esther, Susannsh, Lydia, Elijah, Elisha, Stephen, and Philo btween the years of 1810 and 1833.)
2. Lucina or Lucinda HENRY born in New York (age 44 on 1870 census, but WALWORTH / WALSWORTH book has her born in 1823.) She married Elijah WALSWORTH in Chenango county (Elijah the son of the aforementioned William WALWORTH.) Thier children were Artemas Edwin b. 1849 in Preston and James Enos born in 1853 in Preston. This family migrated to Michigan ending up in Muskegon Co., Michigan.
Lucina may have had a brother or cousin named James (he was from Norwich and migrated to Muskegon Co., MI.) James also had two sons named Adelbert and Franklin and Lucina and Elijah had grandchildren named Adelbert and Franklin WALSWORTH.
She may also have had a brother or cousin named Samuel HENRY that was from Chenango County that migrated to Metamora, Lapeer Co., MI. Lucina and Elijah lived there for a short time and both of thier sons married women from Metamora.
