Charles Banta, of New York City, son of our deceased member, Judge David D. Banta, of Indiana, died at Marion, Indiana, August 15, 1897. He became a member of our Society October 22, 1890.

He was connected with fire insurance companies in New York City, in a responsible position, and was very greatly esteemed for his sterling worth.
