Sybrant G. Van Schaick, son of Goosen and Catharina Staats Van Schaick, was born December 19, 1708. He married Alida Roseboom December 11, 1735, and had eight children. He was prosecuted at law by his successor in office to recover the proceeds of sale of "Freedoms" and excise licenses during his term, which was settled in 1763 by the payment of L150.
