*Jessie Elder, a Luce researcher noticed that the names in this section of the cemetery matched the names of early LUCE settlers in the area. A volunteer for the website checked out the situation and this is what she reported back:
>the name is LUCE
>
> Here is what I could read:
> G Francis Luce, d. 16 Oct 1861 ae. 45y 5 m 20 d
> Lydia w/o George F Luce, d. 8 May 1880 ae 68 y 8 m * there was more on this
> stone but it was unreadable
> There were also 2 footstones that were unreadable
> Another: Newer replacement stone on this site:
> Father- Joel Allen Luce
> b. Jan 3, 1820; d. 19 May 1898
> 2 Upright older stones that were unreadable.
