WILLS
Query Text: Alternate spellings of surname, WILLES, WILLIS, WELLS. My ancestor, Vine WILLS, died in Homer, NY in 1812. He was born in Windham, CT, in 1770 and was married to Chloe Ross, b. 1782 in Monson, Mass. According to the online Smith History of Homer, N.Y., many of the early settlers came from these two towns and I wonder if this is where Chloe and Vine met and married. One child, at least, was born in Homer, Sarah Wills, b. May 16, 1806. Their first child, Sophronia, was born in 1802 in New York, town unknown. Any help in tracking this family down would be appreciated. The surname Wills is not listed in the Smith History of Homer.
