EVANS born Jan 1835 in Freetown and d, 2 Apr 1909 in Town of Lee. He also had two sisters Cordelia evans, and Louise Evans Wood and a brother Irvin Evans Their parents were Elisha Evans b. 27 May 1809 and wife Emily ? Evans b. 19 May 1810. Both died in Oneida County. Their grandson was Oren Benton Evans, my grandfather. I'm searching for information for Horation C. Evans and his parents Elisha and Emily Evans. Mariah Bassett was the wife of Austin Daniel Bassett, who had previously lived in Cortland County.
Julia Hopkins was the wife of Massanae Hopkins who moved to Irving, Barry County, Michigan in 1845. Their daughter, Martha Hopkins married in 1865, Samuel L Hopkins of Cincinnatus, New York, both are buried in the Upper Cincinnatus Cemetery with Samuel's parents.

Joseph died in June 17 1863 but I haven't found that he was in Civil War. Town Clerk of Lower Cincinnatus doesn't have death records for 1860s.

Query Text: I am sorry I am so full of "Cortland" questions - this is the last! I need verification of the burial site of Lemuel Bates. According to an excerpt from Patricia Hatcher's "Abstract of Graves of Rev. Patriots",(Vol I, p.-Serial: 10094; volume:5

Lemuel is buried in Cortland Rural Cemetary in Cortlandville, but very little of that cemetary appears online.Lemuel was born in Brimfield, Ma. March 4, 1747 but settled (after 1800) in Homer, N.Y.I need to verify that he is buried in that cemetary and to find out his date of death. I'd also like to know, if possible, if his grave IS marked as a revolutionary patriot.His wife's name was Fairezinah (I've also seen it spelled Resinah)Thompson Bates. She died in Homer too on August 3, 1852. (Is she buried with him?)They had 13 kids and I have located where some of them are buried - (son Ransford is buried in Glenwood Cemetary, as is son Joseph T., but I cannot verify the parents' graves.)Thank you.

Query Text: My great-grandmother was Ella Palmer Bates. Her parents were Prosper Palmer and Lucy (Stillman) Palmer. Ella died at age 53 in her home on Groton Street in Homer. Query Text: I am looking for any info on Garrett Van Vleet. He was born 31 Aug 1818 in Truxton, Cortland Co. There were a couple of Van Vleet families there on the 1820 census: Benjamin, Benjamin Jr., John, and Jacob. I believe the latter three were sons of Benjamin, Sr.

I have been unable to establish Garrett's parentage or much info on any of them, except Benjamin, Sr., and that is still a bit sketchy.

Can anyone help?
