HAIGHT
Query Text: I'm seeking any information on James H. Haight and his descendants. From what I can gather, James H. Haight married an Ada Bouton on January 24, 1827 in Albany County, New York. They then moved to the Cortland County area. He was registered in the 1830 census in the town of Freetown, 1840 in the town of Virgil, 1850 in the town of Cortlandville, and then back in Freetown in 1860.
Also recorded in the 1860 census was a James H. Haight, Jr. in Freetown. James & Ada had two other sons, David B. and George H. that I can document, but James I cannot. I am looking for a solid connection between James H. Haight and James H. Haight, Jr. It would be a logical assumption that they are directly related because of the names, but I need definite dates. According to information passed down from my family, James H. Haight (Jr.? - my family makes no mention of a Jr.) married a Deziah\Desiah\Desire Kent from either Truxton or Homer area. They had a daughter, Madge E. Haight, who was my g-g-grandmother.
James H. Haight & Ada were buried in Forest Hill cemetary near Blodgett Mills, but I cannot find any trace of James H. Haight & Deziah Kent. My g-g-grandmother grew up in the Truxton area & she and my g-g-grandfather, George hurlbert, are buried in the Cuyler cemetary. I would think that they stayed in the area since their family did.
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated! I can trace James H Haight's ancestors back to 1545, but I need some information so that I can link it all together! I'm looking for any birth, death or marriage dates, etc. I have some information, but I am doubting the accuracy of the information because some of the information seems to conflict with what my family has passed along, etc.
