CLASSIFICATION: Churchyard.
LOCATION: Reformed (Dutch) Church, Fishkill Village.
CONDITION: Cared for.
INSCRIPTIONS: 487 in number. Copied November 4 and December 2, 1914, by J. W. Poucher, M.D., Mrs. Poucher and Mrs. Louis P. Hasbrouck.
REMARKS: The Reformed (Dutch) Church at Fishkill Village was organized in 1718 and a church building erected in 1731. Interments were made around the church until late in the nineteenth century. During the War of the Revolution the building was used as a military prison. In 1882 Mr. E. W. Van Voorhis of New York copied the inscriptions in this churchyard and printed them (G. P. Putnam's Sons) for private distribution. There are eighteen names on Mr. Van Voorhis's list which are not on the list made in the same yard in 1914 by Dr. Poucher. Dr. Poucher copied forty-six names omitted by Mr. Van Voorhis. The duplicates on the two lists have been compared and any discrepancies corrected. The following list includes all inscriptions copied by Mr. Van Voorhis and by Dr. Poucher and acknowledgement is hereby made of the examination of the former's list.

There is a full listing, with photos of every stone, on the church web site at First Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Fishkill Town Cemetery. This listing was done as an Eagle Scout Project by William Wolf III and completed in October 2000.
