DUBUISSON, Charles LaGruenne. Seeking parents of Charles LaGruenne (spelling uncertain) DUBUISSON b. Jan. 1808. His headstone says he was born in Hyde Park, NY. Since Hyde Park was not organized until after 1820, I assume this may have been Clinton. In the same burial plot is buried a Sarahann GILLESPIE b. 1810, also in Hyde Park. I suspect she was a sister, Sarahann DuBuisson. Charles' father may have been Charles LaGruenne du Buisson. I have evidence that his mother's maiden name was DuBois, perhaps of the Ulster County family of that name. These people were Protestant, if not Huguenot. Later, they were Presbyterians and they may have been born into that church. But French Protestants of that time were also apt to be affiliated with the Dutch Reformed and Episcopal churches. I would like to find a church record of Charles' birth, but any clue would be most helpful. David DuBuisson DuBuisson@AOL.com 0897
