MARSH, ROSE/ROOSA. Seeking information about wife of Samuel ROSE/ROOSA. He was from Dutchess Co. and married a girl named Sarah in 1744/5. Family tradition is that her last name was MARSH. Throughout his life there is considerable interaction between William MARSH (son of Matthias Marsh of the Beekman Patent) and Samuel ROSE. There were also, according to Frank Doherty's "Settlers of the Beekman Patent" several MARSH families living in the "Oblong" area. Samuel ROSE, who originally came from the Rhinebeck area, appears to have spent some time in the Crum Elbow area before relocating to Manchester, VT in abt 1764. However, I find a Nehemiah Marshall in Dutchess County in both the 1790 and 1800 Census. Am trying to discover whether my Nehemiah is the one who appears in the Census. MARTIN, George. Seeking information about George MARTIN of Milan. He was a farmer and was b. mid- 1700's. He may have been one of the sons of Manasseh MARTIN of Pawling. George had a son named Caleb Dakins Martin ("Dakins"). Dakins had 8 sons, among them Hiram C. b. 1822....also Alexander, Garrett, Oliver, and others. Does anyone have more definite information on the children of Manasseh Martin ? He is the same one who married Meribah Lake in RI.
