The Enoch Crosby Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution extends a warm welcome to our website.

Founded in 1926 in Carmel, Putnam County, New York, our chapter has a long history of community and patriotic service. 

Who was Enoch Crosby?
Our chapter is named in honor of Enoch Crosby, the soldier and "spy" whose feats during the Revolutionary War in Westchester and Putnam counties, "the neutral zone", were thought to inspire James Fenimore Cooper's The Spy.

By joining DAR we honor our patriot ancestors. Our object is the same as the National Society ...."to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence." We do this with historic preservation, promotion of education and patriotic endeavor.  To learn more about "Today's DAR" click here.

Requirements for joining the DAR are outlined on our membership page.  Members of our chapter will be happy to help you with your research and answer your questions.
