The establishment of this society in early 2005 was born of the wish to unite a community of world-wide researchers having roots in colonial British Guiana or current-day Guyana. Sharon Anderson of Nevada volunteered to create, provide content, and maintain a website. She continues as webmaster in addition to researching and transcribing records. Jon Budhram of Surrey, England serves as assistant webmaster. John Wilmer serves as advisor and proof-reader when time allows from his colonial era British Guiana transcription project, Guyana Colonial Newspapers.
