COUNTY INSTITUTIONS. GREENE COUNTY ALMSHOUSE, Cairo, N. Y.
Keeper. Henry S. Duncan; appointed January 1, 1892. 188 acres of land are attached to the Almshouse, 178 of which are reported as under cultivation. Value of lands and buildings, 128,000.

Expenses for the year ending September 30, 1897, $9,831.19; estimated weekly expense per person, $2.40; estimated value of the labor of inmates during the year, $500. Number remaining in the Almshouse October 1, 1897, 63 (32 males and 31 females). Included in this number were 2 epileptics, 1 deaf, 1 idiot and 2 blind persons.
