Expenses for the year ending September 30, 1897, $9,831.19; estimated weekly expense per person, $2.40; estimated value of the labor of inmates during the year, $500. Number remaining in the Almshouse October 1, 1897, 63 (32 males and 31 females). Included in this number were 2 epileptics, 1 deaf, 1 idiot and 2 blind persons.
