State of New-York, Greene County, ss. To any Constable of the said County, Greeting:
THESE are in the name of the PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW-YORK, to command you to convey and deliver to the keeper of the common Jail, of the said county, the body of Augustin Crooker brought before me, James Pickney one of the Justices of the Peace of the said county, charged with being indicted by the Grand Jury of Greene County at the May General Sessions in 1824 for a conspiracy with Augustus Shue and Samson Crooker
with having, on the 5th day of February 1824 at the town of Cairo in the county aforesaid conspired to cheat and defraud divers good people of the State of Newyork of their monies – and the said Augustin neglecting to procure Bail to be bound with him in a recognizance to appear & answer the said charge & indictment
and the keeper of the said Jail is hereby commanded to receive into his custody the said Augustin Crooker and him safely keep, until he shall be discharged by due course of law.
Given under my hand and seal, the eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four
