In the year 1811 The Church unanimously agreed to unite with the Columbia Presbytery and accordingly did unite the same year.

In the year 1812 our Pastor D. Porter united with the same Presbytery, soon after which the Church was organized agreeable to the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, and the first elders were chosen and solemnly set apart by prayer to their important office, agreeable to the form of electing and ordaining ruling elders in the twelvth Chapter of the constitution.              Persons elected to the eldership:

Thomas Hale
Nathan Elliot
Thomas B. Cook
Wilkes Hyde
Ezra Hawley
Nathaniel Hinman
Hezekiah Thayer
Orren Day
Elisha Wise

Deacons . . .  Thomas Hale & Nathan Elliot.  They had held the same office from soon after Mr. Porter’s settlement.

After The Church was organized as above, the elders had their first meeting March 19th 1812.  (see 21st page of this book)  Since which as will appear from the minutes, the Session have admitted the following persons into the Church or they have examined them for admission.
