The Diary of John Barr

record has been transcribed in its entirety by Arlene Goodwin. Copy of the diary
provided by Don Wilt,
whose wife is a direct descendant of John Barr. The prologue to the diary
indicates that the whereabouts of John Barr after 1789 is unknown. It has been
discovered by Mr. Wilt that John Barr died in Cairo, NY on September 28, 1806
according to the Abstracts of the Revolutionary War Pension files. He was living
in Coxsackie as early as 1796, where he was the treasurer for the Coxsackie
Lodge No. 50 F. & A.M. The search for his actual burial place continues.
