RONALD G. BAUMANN
Ronald G. Baumann (79) of Greenville, NY passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY after a short illness. Born in Catskill, NY on May 4, 1937 son of the late Wilbur and Thelma (Boomhower) Baumann. He lived his entire life in Greenville, graduating from Greenville Central School in 1955. At the age of 14, he began working for the family business, Baumannís Contractors, started by his grandfather in 1923, specializing in plumbing, heating & electricity. He became a master electrician licensed by Greene County and succeeded his father as owner & president of Baumannís Contractors.
Ron was in the Naval Reserves for 25 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He had many and varied interests. He loved to hunt, fish and garden, and for many years was a member of the Mountain Menís club; was a member of the capital area Chief Petty Officerís Assn. & was on the board of directors and vice president of the Greenville Cemetery Assn. Ron was also a member and director of Columbia-Greene Trout Unlimited, a member of the Capital District Fly Fishers; the Norton Hill Wildlife Club; the New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn.; the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Assn.; The Northeast Cutlery Collectors, Inc., the Catskill Mountain Sno-Riders; the Northeast Big Buck Club; the Was-Ha-Gaen Club; the Elks Club of Catskill; the National Rifle Assn.; and the National Knife Collectors Assn. He was formerly an active member & captain of the Greenville Vol. Fire Dept. For many years, Ron was an avid rider of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and more recently an enthusiastic owner of a 1934 Plymouth hot rod, participating in many local car shows.
Ron is survived by his wife Marla (McCann Stevens) Baumann. Also surviving is a son Neil (Robin) Baumann of MT; three daughters, Kelly (Kevin) Slean of TX; Stephanie (David) DeVillers of WI & Beth Ann (Ronald) Atcavage of PA; 11 grandchildren; a brother Thomas (Joanne) Baumann of Greenville & several nieces & nephews; several cousins; one stepson, Anthony Stevens of Cohoes, one step granddaughter & innumerable friends. In addition, he will be missed by his devoted friend & secretary Joan Powers and the many family members of his late wife, Edie (Sutton) Baumann.
His wife gives special thanks to Abby Kudlack & Elsie Allan for their love and support during this difficult time.
The Greenville Vol. Fire Dept. conducted a service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday August 4, at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville, NY.

MELVIN H. MATHISEN
Melvin H. Mathisen of Greenville, died on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at his home. He is survived by his wife Maria; his children Cathleen and husband David Burns, Nicole Mathisen, Christina and husband Marc Christian and Matthew Mathisen; and his grandchildren Arianna Burns and Alexander and Nikolas Christian.
Services will be held at Camp Medusa on Camp Medusa Road in Medusa, NY on Saturday August 29, 2009 at 2pm.
