We Joseph Groom, David Shaw, Leonard Witbeck, Ebenezer King, Garrit W. Sager, Castle Seeley, Elijah Spencer, John Reed and Casper Van Loan Trustees of a Reformed Protestant Dutch Church in the Village of Athens in the County of Greene being assembled together according to the Provisions of the Second Section of the Act entitled an Act to Provide for the Incorporation of Religious Societies, passed April 5th 1813.  Do make this our Certificate for the purpose of Incorporating ourselves agreeably to the Provisions of the Act aforesaid, and we the said above mentioned,  Joseph Groom, David Shaw, Leonard Witbeck, Ebenezer King Garrit W. Sager, Castle Seeley, Elijah  Spencer, John Reed and Casper Van Loan Trustees of the reformed Protestant Dutch Church in the Village of Athens in the County of GreenóDo hereby certify and declare we have adopted for the Names and title of our Incorporation the Following to witóThe Dutch Reformed Church of the Village of Athens.  As witness our hands and seals at Athens this twenty seventh Day of May A. State of New York  SS      Be it Remembered that on the twenty seventh day
Greene County                 of May in the yare of our Lord one thousand Eight                                             Hundred and Twenty Six.  Personally appeared before me William Tolley one of the judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the Said County of Greene, Joseph Groom, David Shaw, Leonard Witbeck, Ebenezer King, Garrit W. Sager, Castle Seeley, Elijah Spencer, John Reed and Casper Van Loan to me well known to be the same persons described in the within Instrument as Trustees and who generally Acknowledged that they Signed Sealed and Delivered the ____ as their Voluntary Act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned and I having examined the same and finding therein no interliniations or _____ do allow the same to be recorded.
