We the subscribers having been chosen presiding officers and Judges of an election of “Trustees for the first Baptist Church and Society in Greenville” at a regular meeting published according to the requirements of the Statutes of this State  held at the Baptist Chapel in the town of Greenville in the county of Greene on Monday the sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven, do hereby certify that the following persons were duly elected “Trustees for the first Baptist Church and Society in Greenville” by the  unanimous vote of the meeting  viz   “Bushrod Rundle, Hiram S. Losee, Lansing S. Rowe, William Stevens, Alanson Pitts and Oliver Palmer”  said trustees and their successors are to be Known & designated by the name of “Trustees of the first Baptist Church & society of Greenville.”  

                         In witness whereof we the undersigned have hereunto subscribed our names and affixed our seals   done at Greenville this 1st day of February 1837

State of New York  County of Greene  ss   On the first day of February A. D. 1837 before me Perkins King a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in and for said County the within named Elkana Baker and William Stevens whom I know to be persons described in and who executed the within instrument severally acknowledged that they executed the same.
