We Stephen Benedict & Joseph Blaisdell two of the members of first Methodist Episcopal Society in the Town of Greenville in the county of Greene being nominated by a majority of ______ present to preside at an Election to choose trustees for said society.   

To all whom it may concern. We do certify & make known that pursuant to an Act of the Legislature of the state of New York entitled an Act to provide for the incorporation of Religious societies. The male persons of full age belonging to said society  Did assemble & meat [sic] together on the third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight hundred fourteen at the Dwelling house of Stephen Benedict the place at which said society usually attend for Divine worship for the purpose of electing Trustees for said society legal notice having been given of the time and place of such Election.  That the said male person so assembled. Did then & there determine that five trustees should be chozen [sic] & that there upon the same Day & year & at the same place above mention an Election was held, for Electing said trustees & that Stephen Benedict,  Joseph Blaisdell, Elisha Canton (?),  Benjamin Woolsey & Reuben Stephen were by a plurality of votes duly elected trustees for the said society in witness hereof we have hereunto set our hand & seal this day & year first above written

Green County upon the fourteenth day of July in the year of one thousand and Eight hundred & fifteen.   Came before me Garret Abeel first Judge of Green  common pleas court  Stephen Benedict & Joseph Blaisdell & acknowledged that they did sign seal & delivered the within as their Voluntary Act for the ___therein contained & having Examined the same document. This writing to be recorded.
