We the under signed do hereby Certify that a number of the freeholders in the town of Hunter Greene Co.  State of New York met on this 15th day of August A. D. 1825 pursuant to legal notice at the Meeting room in the New York Tannery in said Hunter, and formed themselves into a Religious Society for the purpose of Supporting the gospel in this place to be known by the name of  “the Presbyterian Society of Hunter” and proceeded to appoint by ballot three trustees  Vis, Deacon Joseph Bassett, William Edwards, Esq and Mr. Edmund Avery, which board of Trustees was immediately formed to be know by the name of “the board of Trustees of the Presbyterian Society of Hunter”  In testimony whereof we the two senior Elders of the Presbyterian Church in this place and presiding officers at the above said Meeting, agreeably to the Statute of this State have hereto set our names & Seals

On the 24th day do August 1825 personally appeared before me David Ingersoll  to me known who being duly sworn says that he was present when Joseph Bassett and William Edwards both to him Known executed the written instrument in writing who then acknowledged that they did execute the same, and that he subscribed the instrument as a witness thereto together with Henry B. Stimson, which being to me Satisfactory evidence of its due execution  I allow it to be Recorded.
