At a meeting previously notified according to law convened at the house of Herman Harvey on the evening of the 28th of Jan 1833 for the purpose of organizing and incorporating a society, known in law by the Name of the South Durham Babtist Society. The Pastor of the Church Herman Harvey, being present took the chair and on motion appointed Russel Hervey Scribe for the meeting. 2nd Resolved to appoint three trustees for a quorum and no more 3rd appointed trustees as follows; 1st D. B. Hervey 2nd P. Joice 2 Michael Boomhower 4th Resolved that Isaac W. Bullis be our scribe for the ensuing year 5th Resolved that the annual meeting be held the first Tuesday of Jan 6th Resolved that the meeting be adjourned til that time.
