1810 CENSUS

JEFFERSON COUNTY, NEW YORK

The 1810 Federal population census schedule gives, for each family, the name of its head, followed by the number of family members (the numbers include the family head) in each of the following 12 categories. Unless otherwise indicated, the last two columns in Jefferson County are generally left blank.

A Free white males under 10 years of age
B Free white males of 10 years of age and under 16 years of age
C Free white males of 16 years of age and under 26 years of age
D Free white males of 26 years of age and under 45 years of age
E Free white males of 45 years and older.

F Free white females under 10 years of age
G Free white females of 10 years of age and under 16 years of age
H Free white females of 16 years of age and under 26 years of age
J Free white females of 26 years of age and under 45 years of age
K Free white females of 45 years of age and older

L All other persons except Indians not taxed
N Slaves
