JEFFERSON COUNTY NEW YORK
TOWN OF PAMELIA
THE LONGEST BARN IN NEW YORK STATE

From a slightly different angle, this is taken from a snapshot belonging to the Dixon family. Stovewood is piled toward the left, and a fence can be made out in the foreground. It was John Dixon's habit to walk his line fences of a Sunday afternoon. He obeyed the Biblical injunction of resting on the Sabbath, but walking the fences was more of a recreation to a man used to hard labor all week. Various pieces of farm equipment are also ready at hand.
