1. NATHAN MONROE FLOWER was born 14 Dec 1796 at Oak Hill, Greene County
NY. In 1822, he and his wife came from Cherry Valley, a journey of 8
days, to Indian River, at the clearing and settlement of Theresa. By the
next year, his woolen mill was operating. His works were later destroyed
by fire. NATHAN FLOWER was a justice of the peace, in addition to his
business. He died in the village 4 Apr 1843 and was buried in Oakwood
Cemetery there.
He married 13 May 1824 in Springfield, Otsego County NY
MARY ANN BOYLE, daughter of PHILIP and (---) BOYLE of Cherry Valley.
MARY ANN was born 2 Jan 1805. After her husband's death, she managed
the mill and ran two farms which the family owned near Theresa.
She died 23 Feb 1869 and was buried with her husband in Oakwood Cemetery.
