PIONEER LITTLE FAMILY

1. SHUBAEL LITTLE was born on 25 Aug 1790 at Hillsborough, New Hampshire.
Shubael Little was a nephew of David Little, another early settler of Jefferson
County. He was a "boss carpenter" as well as a clergyman and preacher of the
demonination known as "Christians." His head stone refers to him as "Elder
Shubael Little." From 1819 to 1828 he was associated with Brownville and
particularly Dexter; however, the early 1830's find him located in Le Ray, and
the 1840 US Census has him in Hounsfield. Shubael Little is first listed in
the index of deeds for Jefferson County receiving a deed from J. Brown in 1822.
In 1823 and 1824 he grants deeds to George Little (who is most likely his half
brother). In 1841, 1842, and 1843 he received deeds from J. Brown, S.N. Dexter
& al., and J. Trumbull, respectively.
He died on 3 Oct 1847 at Dexter, Jefferson, New York, at age 57. Both were
buried at Sanford's Corner Cemetery, Calcium, Jefferson, New York.

He married 4 Apr 1819 at Hounsfield by Rev. Hezakiah Field

DEBORAH BARROWS, who was the daughter of SAMUEL and AZUBAH (RANSOM)
BARROWS, Jr. She died 22 May 1855.
