1. PHILANDER THURSTON, (son of CYRUS and (---) THURSTON) was born 29 jan
1810 in Springfield, Otsego County NY.  He moved to Jefferson County,
probably as a young child with his parents, and settled in Hounsfield
outside Watertown toward Sackets Harbor.  By 1850 he was a hotel keeper in
the Town of LeRay, retiring in 1789.  He died 9 Feb 1887 aged 77 years and
was buried in the Black River Cemetery.

He married 8 Apr 1838 in Hounsfield

JANE SALONA CLEVELAND (daughter of HARVEY and RELIEF (CROSS) CLEVELAND)
who was born 1 Jan 1814 in the Town of Rutland, Jefferson County.  
She died 27 Mar 1899 at Black River aged 85 years.
