1. ABRAHAM WILKINSON (son of JOHN & ISABEL (TAPPAN) WILKINSON) was born 8 Aug 1769 at Hanover, Morris County NJ. He came to Jefferson County NY and died at the Town of Henderson 27 Jul 1864. He married 13 Jul 1791 at Town of Ballston, Saratoga County NY JANET (JANE) MEAD who was the daughter of JOHN & MARGARET (DeMOTT) MEAD. She was born 1 Sep 1772 and died in Town of Henderson, Jefferson County, 1 Jan 1857. Children, WILKINSON: + 2 i WILLIAM WILKINSON married RHODA SAWYER 3 ii JOHN WILKINSON married MARTHA (FANNY) FRANCES 4 iii JAMES WILKINSON married ELIZABETH YERKES 5 iv SILAS WILKINSON married PHILINDA STICKNEY 2. WILLIAM WILKINSON (son of ABRAHAM & JANET/JANE (MEAD) WILKINSON) was born 22 Nov 1793 at Charlton, Saratoga County, NY. He settled in Jefferson County in 1806, staking out his territory on Stony Island in the Town of Henderson, where he felled giant cedars for lumber and shingles. Old stories report that the trunks were three feet across, and they grew so close that one couldn't drive a wagon between them. He was accompanied by his wife and six children. By 1809 they moved to a neighboring island, Galloo, and in the spring of 1812 to mainland. He served during the War of 1812. He died 17 Jun 1881 in Henderson. He married RHODA SAWYER who was the daughter of EBENEZER & HANNAH (WHITTIER) SAWYER. She was born 1 Jul 1798 in Vermont and died 15 Mar 1887 at Henderson, Jefferson County.
