McNair, John -- Sparta; 06 Jul 1818. Ontario (now Livingston) County

"being weak in body, but of sound ... mind ... my last will and testament ... First ... I resign my soul to its creator ... Secondly ... to my two sons, John and William McNair a lot of land which I purchased of Mr. Davis commonly known by the mash lot ... equally divided between them. John to have the north half and William the south half, the lot supposed to contain one hundred acres ...

Thirdly ... to my son Samuel McNair a lot of land ... joining his own lot on the west containing twenty four acres ...

Fourthly ... to my son James McNair the lot of land on which I now live, containing two hundred acres"... Witnesses: William McCartney, Henry Driesback, Joseph Driesback. Will recorded: 28 Sep 1825

Contributors note:

This will also mentions his grandchildren: John, Margret, Samuel, James, "un-named infant"; who are the children of James Sturgeon and Margret McNair, his wife. It appears that David, the son of John McNair, is deceased. David's children are: John, Margret, David, Phiby. Another son of John McNair, by the name of Robert, needs "lifetime support" and provisions for this, are made in the will. John McNair's daughter, Christian (perhaps mispelled Christina) is married to Charles Edwin Clyton. His other daughter, Margret, is married to James Sturgeon. John McNair's son, James NcNair is married to Rebecca Clyton.
