MiscellanyA point of confusionThere were two patents in Dutchess County with similar names:
Although they were adjacent to each other (in the northeastern quadrant of the county, see the map), they were quite distinct, having different "partners". We are associated with the latter (Little Nine Partners Patent), and cannot help with queries for information regarding the other Dutchess County patents. To assist those of you who are interested in the Great Nine Partners Patent, we have compiled a page of information relevant to that patent and other related areas of inquiry (see below).
Mission StatementOur mission is to foster 1) the study of the history of the area known as the 1706 Little Nine Partners patent in Dutchess County, NY, and 2) the conservation of the elements of that history.

Fall - Winter 06-07
The Little Nine Partners Historical Society has made significant progress in the preservation and restoration of the circa 1770 Graham-Brush log house located next to Pecks Market. Hopefully you've noticed the tarps are gone - replaced with a wood shingle and standing seam metal roof. We've also been able to shore up the stone foundation and replace rotten sills, support beams, burned siding and the front door. We've enjoyed tremendous community support most recently receiving a $1500 grant from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, Inc and donations of labor from: Simmons Plumbing & Heating, Ginocchio Electric and Ted Tenore Excavating enabling us to run a new water line and underground electric service to the house. Much remains to be done to make repairs from the fire in 1997 and to reveal over 230 years of history. Critical needs as we move forward include: repairs to chimneys and fireplaces, restoration of interior surfaces and the careful provision of some modern heat, electric and plumbing to allow the building to be open and used by the public. The good news is that the building really has retained most of its original materials. We're continually amazed with the almost 50 foot long logs that are the upstairs' walls. As a society, we are committed to fostering the study of our history and the conservation of important elements of our past so they will be available to those of the future. We feel the Graham-Brush Log House project is an ideal project because of its location in the Town Center and its unique value as one of the last remaining original log structures in the area. We know the restoration work will cost tens of thousands more. The Society has no paid staff and we depend on community donations. We ask that you consider providing continuing support to this exciting local project with a fully tax deductible contribution now while you think of it. Checks may be made out to LNPHS and mailed to P0 Box 243, Pine Plains 12567. Good things happen at the local level when local people care. Donations of all sizes will be gratefully received. Thank you. Sincerely, the LNPHS Graham - Brush House Fundraising Committee Ann Simmons Betty lsler Dave Guernsey Scott Chase To arrange a donation tour call 398-7683.
