I am looking for my wife's ancestors : (1) Oliver ADAMS. Born approx. 1760 in Northumberland (some sources say the region in England, others say the town in Saratoga County NY) and died in 1832 in Preble, Cortland County NY. He moved to Preble, in about 1814, buying land in both 1814 & 1815. His wife's name was probably Catherine, with a possible maiden name of Hager; she died in Preble in 1830. They had 6 sons (William, Oliver [d. in 1816 at 24 yrs], Elijah, John, Abraham & Jacob) and a daughter Zubia. Family members appear in Preble in the 1820 census.
William, son of Oliver, married Phoebe LEWIS [no information know] in Preble in 1809. All members of William's family moved to Illinios in 1842. William lived in several locations in the Cook & Kane County areas of IL but settled in the town of Dundee about 1838. One of his sons was DeWitt Clinton Adams, also a prominent Dundee merchant and resident in the late 1800's. I would be especially interested in any birth records for Oliver, his death record, and any obituary there may be. I don't know what church he was in, but his son in IL helped organize a Baptist Church.
(2) Derrick ADAMS, brother to Oliver. Listed as living in Sullivan, Madison County NY in the 1820 Census.

HILL - CLAYES / CLOICE - DAVIS
My ancestor Jonathan Hill (b. Holliston MA 8 March 1745; m. Keziah Daniels 7 June 1770 Charlestown MA) is said, by obviously garbled family records, to have removed to "Morristown, Rodman County, New York." Could that actually have been Morrisville in the Town of Eaton, Madison County? The present Morristown, in St. Lawrence County, was initially called Morrisville when it was laid out in 1799. And Jonathan's and Keziah's family appears to have been in the vicinity of Morrisville; their daughter Lydia Hill (b. 17 July 1779 Holliston, MA) m. Ezra Clayes (b.Dec. 1776 Framingham, MA) 2 March 1800 in the Presbyterian Church in New Hartford, Oneida County, NY. Jonathan and Keziah had a son Asa; was he the Asa Hill who m. 9 Nov. 1797 Katherine Davis in the same church where Lydia Hill married Ezra Clayes. Asa and Katherine moved to Rodman NY in 1810. Lydia and Ezra moved to Buffalo, NY, but Ezra's twin brother Micajah m. 26 Jan 1800 Dolly Morse and settled at Eaton, Madison Co. NY. Eaton had many early settlers named Morse and Leland, surnames which occur in Jonathan's and Keziah's family trees; Keziah was named for her grandmother Keziah Morse. Can Jonathan and Keziah be traced to a location in Madison County; if so, where and when?
Thank you, Edith Bartley
