A resident of the Nicholas Pond Road, Town of Fenner, was fatally injured when he fell from his farm tractor near his home, Thursday afternoon. Guy I. Buyea, 71, of Canastota RD3, died shortly after he was admitted to Lenox Memorial Hospital at 3:15 P. M. an hour after the accident. Buyea had been cultivating a 14-acre tract of corn when his grandson, Wayne Buyea, heard the tracor making an unusual sound. The youth found his grandfather, lying in the center of the cornfield. Henry Perry, a neighbor, and the youth, took the victim in deep shock to the hospital. Dr. George R. Kinsella, Madison County coroner, ruled death was accidental, attributed to his injuries. Buyea suffered a broken collarbone, fractured ribs, a punctured lung and collapsed lung in the fall, that may have been preceded by a heart attack, Investigators said they followed the path of the tractor and found it had traveled about a mile from where Mr. Buyea fell. The motor war still running when he found the tractor in a ravine. A life resident of the Town of Fenner, Mr. Buyea is survived by his wife, the former Marion Marshall; a daughter, Mrs. Glennis Bogue of Canastota; a son, Eldon C. Buyea of Canastota RD 3; eight grand-children, a great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the E. F. Schepp and Son Funeral Home, Canastota, the Rev Ralph L. Smith, retired pastor of the Clockville Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery. Friends nay call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Mrs. Marion Buyea, 69. of Canastota Rd 3 died last Tuesday at Gerrit Smith Infirmary, Eaton, following an illness of two years. She was born in Eastwood and married Guy Buyea in 1917. She lived in the Canastota area most of her life, Surviving are a son, Alden Buyea of Canastota; a daughter, Mrs. Glenis Bogue of Canastota; a brother, Henry Marshall of Sherrill; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday at the Schepp - Cretaro Funeral Home. Burial was in Lenox Rural Cemetery. She was buried in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota, NY.
