Kenneth P. Buyea, 74

Kenneth Buyea, 74, of 16 Genesee Street, Oneida died Friday in Oneida City Hospital. He had been in ill healh for several months. He was born in Oneida, December 8, 1906, the son of Earl and LaMoine Bortle Buyea. Mr. Buyea has been a lifelong Oneida resident. He married the former Mabel Durant in Sherrill, December 11, 1926. Before his retirement, Buyea had been the owner and operator of Buyea's Inc. of Canastota for Many Years. He attended the first Presbyteian Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, L. Gene Buyea, of Athens; a daughter Lelah DenHaese ofOneida; two brothers, Irving Buyea of Cazenovia and Walter Buyea of Oneida; two great-grandchildren and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held Monday at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida with the Rev, Richard P. Weld officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery.

He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida, NY.

He was married to Mabel DURANT on 11 Dec 1926 in Sherrill, NY. Mabel DURANT (1) was born on 8 Feb 1908 in Brasher Falls, NY. She died on 15 Oct 1985 in Oneida, Madison Co, NY. She Obituary on 23 Oct 1985 in Canastota, Madison Co, NY.(22)

Mabel Buyea, 77

Mabel Durant Buyea, 77, of 442 Main St. Oneida, formerly of 16 Genesee St, Oneida, died Oct. 15, 1985 in the Oneida City Hospital, where she had been a medical patient for the past two days, She was a former Canastota resident. Born in Brasher Falls on Feb. 8, 1908, she was the daughter of William and Mae Sophia Durant. A resident of Oneida for the past 36 years, she married Kenneth P. Buyea in Sherrill on Dec. 11 1926, Mr. Buyea died on April 17, 1981. Prior to her retirement in 1979, Mrs. Buyea was the accountant-bookkeeper at the Fayetteville Chrysler-Plymouth Sales Agency, and previously held the same position at Harrington Sales and Service, formerly operating in Oneida. She was a Christian and was active in Girl Scouts in the 1960's. Surviving are one son, L. Gene Buyea of Altamont; ond daughter, Lelah M. DenHaese of Oneida; one brother, Ernest Durant of Schenectady; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sevearal nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Oct. 17 from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 250 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Athur Clark officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cmetery.
