Augustino S. Panzica
Augustino S. "Gus" Panzica, 82, of 478 Elizabeth St., Oneida, died Sunday
at Stonehedge Nursing Home, Rome.
He was born in Oneida. He owned and operated the former Gussie Madison Hotel
for 33 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Oneida, a fourth-degree
member and past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council 473, a life
member of the Oneida Elks and a member of the Oneida Owls Nest and Moose
Lodge. Survivors: His wife, Eva; four daughters, Mary Anne Gallagher of Mesa,
Ariz., Patricia Shields and Marsha Adsit, both of Canastota, and Marshele
Macrina of Herkimer; two sons, David of Oneida and Anthony of Winter Haven,
Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday
in St. Joseph's Church, Oneida. Burial, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oneida.
