Clyde D. Popple
Clyde D. Popple, 87, of 213 S. Main St., Canastota, died Monday at home.
Born in Canastota, he was a former resident of Chittenango. He retired in
1980 after 20 years as a custodian in the Chittenango school district. He was
a carpenter for Howard Whitmeyer and worked 15 years for the Canastota Water
Department. His wife of 48 years, the former Martha James, died in 1988.
Survivors: a daughter, Barbara Buyea of Canastota; two sons, Robert D. Popple
of Canastota and James Epperson of Michigan; a sister, Kate Cox of Liverpool;
10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at J.
Homer Ball Funeral Home. Burial, Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Calling
hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 201 James St.,
Canastota.
