Carmen F. "Skinny" Tornatore

CANASTOTA - Carmen F "Skinny" Tornatore, 82, a well-known former resident of 
126 Lamb Ave., Canastota, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 in the Oneida 
Healthcare Center, following a brief illness. He had resided at the Extended 
Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare, for the past six years. 
 He was born on Oct. 9, 1917 in Canastota, the son of Carlo and Angelina 
Tornatore Tornatore. Mr. Tornatore was a former selfemployed onion and 
produce farmer in Canastota most of his fife. He also was once employed at 
Henny Motors in Canastota for several years. He was a member of the Madison 
County Onion Growers Association.   
  He was a life resident of Canastota. 
  Mr. Tornatore was a member of  St. Agatha's Church, Canastota. 
  Mr. Tornatore married Teresa Sicilia of Canastota on Dec. 7, 1940 in St. 
Agatha's Church. Mrs. Tornatore died on Nov. 6, 1973. 
 Surviving are one son, Carl Dennis Tornatore of Canastota; two brothers and 
three sisters-in-law, Sam and Frances Tornatore of Canastota, Michael and 
Connie Tornatore of Minoa and Connie Tornatore of Canastota; seven grand-
children; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including 
a very special niece, Mary Jean Sicilia Alessi of Verona. He was predeceased 
by a brother, James Tornatore.
