  Edward A. Wimmer Sr. 
  Edward A. Wimmer Sr., 90, formerly of North Court Street Road, died 
Thursday afternoon, Sept. 30, 1999, in the Stonehedge Nursing Home, Rome, 
where he had been a patient for the past five months. 
  Born in Oneida, on April 1, 1909, he was the son of Henry and Minnie 
Hillenbrand Wimmer. A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Wimmer was educated 
in the Oneida schools. 
  He married J. Lucina Fisher in St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, on Nov. 18, 
1933. Mrs. Wimmer died on Jan. 18, 1999. 
  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Wimmer owned and operated a dairy farm. He was
a Communicant of St. Agatha's Church, a member of the Dairymen's League, a 
former member of the board of directors of Agway (Formerly known as GLF) and 
the ASCS (Soil Conservation.) 
  Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bernet J. Hazel Wimmer 
of North Bay, Edward A. Wimmer Jr. and Michael J. and Eileen Wimmer, all of 
Canastota; one daughter, Mary J. Wimmer of Morgantown, West Virginia; one 
brother, Otto Wimmer of Camden; two sisters, Pauline Farnach of Canastota and 
Gladys Colway of Oneida; six grandchildren, Sandra Zorn, Shari Andrewski, 
James Wimmer, Wendy Heath, Christine Wimmer, and Benjamin Wimmer, six great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a 
grandson, Douglas M. Wimmer in 1992.
