Emery D. Palmer

CANASTOTA - Emery D. Palmer Sr., 101, of RD 3, 6597 Buyea Road, died Friday, 
Oct. 15, 1999, at the 0neida Healthcare Extended Care Facility following a 
brief illness. 
He was born on Sept. 1, 1898, in Litchfield, the son of Charles and Ida 
Allen Palmer. 
Mr. Palmer had spent his early years in West Winfield, and had lived in the 
Canastota area since 1940. 
He had been a dairy farmer from 1938 to 1963. Prior to that, he had worked at
the Knitting Mill in Chadwicks for 15 years. 
Mr. Palmer married Josephine Inman on March 3, 1920, in Utica. Mrs. Palmer 
died on June 25, 1992. 
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Lena Palmer of 
Wampsville and Emery Jr. and Joan Palmer of Vernon Center; three daughters 
and two sons-in-law, Margaret and Harry Babcock of Sandy Creek, Joyce Palmer 
and Mary and Clyde Raymond all of Canastota; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-
grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
