Eldridge L. DeFrees 
  Eldridge L. DeFrees, 86, of 160 Union St., Kenwood Station, died Monday 
evening, March 8, 1999, in the Extended Care Facility of Oneida Healthcare 
Center, where he had been a resident for the past two months. 
  He was born on April 5, 1912, in Oneida, the son of Henry and Laura 
Parmalee DeFrees. 
  He was a lifelong resident of Oneida and was educated in Oneida Schools. 
Mr. DeFrees married Doris Richmond on July 19, 1946, at Hickory Knolls, 
  Prior to his  retirement, in 1974, Mr. DeFrees was employed with Oneida Ltd. 
  He was a member of the Community Associated Clubs, Oneida Limited 
Retirement Club, a former member of the Sherrill American Legion, Post 230 
and was of Baptist faith. 
  Mr. DeFrees was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States 
Army in the Pacific Theatre. 
  Surviving are his wife and several nieces and nephews.
