Edgar L. Deitz

    Edgar L. Deitz, 87, of RD 4 Lewis Point Rd., died Monday at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Earl Camp, 131 Lamb Ave. 
    Born Sept. 4, 1879 in Canastota, he was the son of Joseph and Louisa 
Deitz.  A life long resident of this village, Mr. Deitz formerly was a 
maintenance man with the Canastota School System.  After retiring this post 
in 1944, he worked at Cardner's meat market until 1952. 
    His wife, the former Mary Priller, died in 1908. 
    In addition to his daughter, Mr. Deitz is survived by two grandchildren 
and six great grandchildren. 
    Funeral services will be at 2 P. M. Thursday from the J. Homer Ball 
Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Emblidge, Jr. pastor of the First 
Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, 
[Facts: Edgar was the brother of Peter Henry Deitz and the grandfather of 
Mabel Camp who married Norris Jaquay.]
