  Edward P. "Ted" Haskell 
  Edward P. "Ted" Haskell, 47, 5 Vally View Drive, died Thursday morning in 
the town of Hamburg, while being employed by the New York State Racing and 
Wagering Board, where he served as a judge. 
  Born in Oneida, on May 30, 1952, he was the son of Robert L. and Vera 
Presley Haskell. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Mr. Haskell was a graduate of
Oneida High School, Class of 1970, and received his bachelor of arts degree 
in economics from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1974. He 
married Mary Hilary Shaw in Holy Family Church, Auburn on Aug. 9, 1975. 
  Mr. Haskell was a partner in the Haskell-James Real Estate Appraisal Co. in
Oneida, where he was a certified general appraiser on the state and federal 
levels. He also served as a judge, becoming the presiding judge, with the New
York State Racing and Wagering Board for more than 20 years. Being a native 
son of Oneida, Mr. Haskell took great pride in his real estate and commercial 
developments. With his partners, Rocco Altamuro, Patrick James, and Paul 
Basilio, he developed the Cedar House, Oneida Storage Units, Oneida Car Wash,
Sherrill Car Wash, Canastota car wash, Wilson Street Shopping Center, South 
Side Plaza and the Oneida Savings Bank Convenience Center. 
  Mr. Haskell was a board member of Oneida Vally Securities Corp. and the 
Crouse Community Center, Morrisville. He was also a member of the Powhatan 
Club, a former member of the Salvation Army Advisory and the Rotary Club of 
Oneida. He was of the Episcopal faith. 
  Surviving besides his wife, Mary Hilary; two sons, Brendan Edward and 
Trevor Roberts Haskell, both at home, two daughters, Mary Courtney, and her 
fiance, Travis Hughes, of Brookline, Mass. and Mary Caitlin Haskell at home; 
his mother and stepfather, Vera and Widen Amundson of Oneida; his father-in-
law and mother-in-law, William and Enid Shaw of Oneida; one step-sister, 
Sharon Amundson of Boise, Idaho; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
