  Frances L. Pierce 
 
  Frances L. Pierce, 98, formerly of Vienna Road, Sylvan Beach and Stone 
Street, Oneida, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 1998, at the Extended Care 
Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center where she had been a resident for 
the past six and one-half years. 
  She was born on Feb. 15, 1900, in Oneida, the daughter of Arba J. and 
Janette Piersall Mickle. 
  She was a resident of this area for most of her life, with the exception of
when she resided in Florida for 10 years. 
  Mrs. Pierce was educated in the Oneida schools. 
  Her husband, Walter "Smokey" Pierce died May 1, 1975. 
  Mrs. Pierce was employed at one time with Marge's Sea Shell Inn in Verona 
Beach. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a former member of
the American Legion Post 169 Auxiliary. 
  Surviving is one niece, Olive Wahl of Sylvan Beach.
