  Freeman W. Law 
  Freeman W. Law, 87, of 4347 Peterboro St., died early Thursday morning, 
Aug. 12, 1999, at his home. 
  He was born July 20, 1912, in Verona, the son of Oscar and Ruth Wells Law. 
He was educated in Vernon and on June 26, 1937, in Vernon, married the former
Florence Ackerman. 
  Prior to his retirement in 1974, Mr. Law was employed as the maintenance 
supervisor with the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District. He also 
operated an Atlantic service station in Vernon from 1937 thru 1943 and one 
day provided gas for Henry Ford and his son, Edsel 
  Mr. Law and his wife spent more than 20 winters in Plant City, Florida. 
  He had been a member of the Vernon Fire Dept. since 1938, and was chief in 
1949. He was a 50-year member of the Oneida County Fire Chiefs Association. 
He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 11 of Vernon. 
  Surviving are his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Larry Willy 
of Oneida Castle and Diane and Jerry Lummis of Vernon; two sons and 
daughters-in-law, Don and Terry Law of Sherrill and Art and Sue Law of 
Kenwood; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
