  Oneida - Gertrude N. King, 72, of 228 North Main St., died unexpectedly at 
her residence, on Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, after suffering a coronary attack. 
  She was born on Aug. 13, 1927, in Oneida,the daughter of George and Mina 
Wells Harris. 
  A lifelong resident of Oneida, she was educated in the Oneida schools. Her 
husband, Arnold W. King, died Aug. 9, 1966. 
  Prior to her retirement in 1989, Mrs. King was employed with the Oneida  
City Hospital in the laundry department. She was of the Christian faith. 
  Surviving are her companion of many years, Thomas Hare; five sons and three
daughters-in-law, Thomas and Alice Harris of Oswego, Roger King and Brian and
Mary King, all of Oneida, Dale King of Elmira and Paul and Lynette King of 
Daytona Beach, Fla; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sheila Johnson of 
Syracuse, Darla and Dwelly Torrance of Portal, Ga., Deborah and Frank Sanchez
of Oneida and Laureen and Clinton Powell of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Clayton 
(Caroline) Kimball of Oneida; 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 
several nieces and nephews. A grandson, Thomas W. Harris, died on June 14,
